Tough Little Guy

Poor Lucas, it seems every time we get him well, he gets sick again. He has been "sniffly" for a little over a week, but over the weekend his drainage seemed to worsen, so I took him to his pediatrician's office yesterday. Turns out he has an ear infection. It never dawned on me that his ear was causing this... he hasn't been fussy at all, no fever, he's been eating fine... but, the nurse practitioner took one look at his left ear and said he was a tough guy, because it was really red and yucky on the inside. She prescribed him an antibiotic (bubblegum flavor... he actually seems to enjoy taking it) and we have a follow-up appointment scheduled in two weeks. I know that everything he catches now is helping his body build up and make his own antibodies and immunities, but I still don't like it with him being so little and not being able to tell us what's hurting.

Happy 5 Months Old Baby Boy!

Wow! Time flies... Lucas is 5 months old today! He is growing like a little weed! He is rolling over now in both directions from his tummy to his back. He can roll to his left side, but he can't quite make it all the way over from his back to his tummy yet. He is learning to balance himself while sitting up... a few seconds to a minute at a time. He continues to do very well eating his fruits and vegetables every night (half of a container of each plus some cereal... sweet potatoes and bananas are his favorites), and he still takes a bottle every 2 1/2 hours during the day. Up until 3 nights ago, he was waking up once a night for a "midnight" snack, but the past few nights he has been waking up 3-4 times a night.... and taking a bottle at 3 of those! Not so much fun for his mommy and daddy! Blowing bubbles is his new favorite thing to do! He does it constantly... even when mommy tells him not to with food in his mouth.. lol. He is such a wonderful blessing in our lives; I can't even remember life before 5 months ago!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Yesterday was our nephew, Ryan's 3rd birthday and we went to celebrate with him in Villa Rica. He got lots of really neat toys and couldn't wait to play!!!

Easter

Lucas had a wonderful first Easter! The Easter Bunny left him lots of goodies!... and he got even more at his Mom & Papa's and Nana and Big Daddy's houses!

We had lots of fun today at Bonnie's (a friend of Anna, my sister-in-law) beautiful home in Villa Rica! There was lots of food, family, fun, and EGGS!

Lucas rolled over for the first time today!.. tummy to back! We were playing in the floor and I have been really working (trying) to get in more tummy time with him. He hates being on his stomach!.. but, today, he tolerated it for a few minutes... that is until he learned how to get back on his back!

Hippity Hoppity, Easter's On Its Way!

Lucas met the Easter Bunny today at the mall!

Cereal

Lucas is doing great eating his cereal! He started one week ago and he gobbles it up every evening. He is not totally in love with the spoon, but he definitely tolerates it well. The cereal really hasn't helped much with his nighttime feeding (3am every night, without fail), but we are hopeful that as he eats more, maybe we will all rest better!
