First "Babies" Shower for the Twins

My sweet Multiple Mommy friends showered Boone and Carly with wonderful gifts last Wednesday night. We enjoyed our time together so much... so many laughs and stories! We missed our two "sistas" that couldn't be with us, but we surely felt them there in spirit. :o)

Boone and Carly

Profiles.. Carly is on top, Boone is on bottom.
The first one in this set is of Carly and the rest are shots of our handsome Boone.

Princess Carly

We had a Perinatologist appointment in Atlanta on Wednesday. Boone and Carly looked absolutely perfect. They have both grown so much since our last peak at them. I was 23 weeks and 2 days pregnant on the day of the ultrasound. Boone measured 24 weeks and 2 days; 1 pound 8 ounces. And, Carly measured 23 weeks 3 days; 1 pound 6 ounces. Dr. Matsumoto was pleased with their progress and Carly's heart still looked beautiful despite her 2 vessel cord.. thanks to those who have prayed for continued health. My blood sugars seem to be beginning to show signs of more resistance, but hopefully with daily adjustments, they won't become too difficult to manage. My blood pressure is holding its own for the most part. I have days when it seems it is just going to be high no matter how much or how little I do and then other days that it does just great. With fears that it will get higher as the 3rd trimester approaches, Dr. Miller recommended that I not return to work until after maternity leave. I have mixed emotions about it, but I know without a doubt it is for the best... I will be thinking about all my teacher friends as they prepare to receive their students this week. :o)
On a funny note... as the ultrasound was being performed on Thursday, the babies were VERY active.. as they always seem to be! Boone started out head down and by the end he had turned completely around with his head right at Carly's feet. She kicked the fire out of him a couple of times... we were all laughing so hard (bad, I know, I know) and then Boone raised both of his arms above his head and started firing back at her... they were having a full fledged fight in there! These babies have got some attitude!
