Jumparoo or Swing?

Catch-Up

Notice the 3rd tooth about to come in on the right side.

He likes to "pretend" feed himself during meal time... :o)
Milk.. it does the body good!

Wagon wheels.. yum, yum!

It is way past time to "catch-up" the blog! It seems that I am always playing "catch-up" of some kind these days... catching-up the cleaning, the laundry, the dishes, schoolwork, phonecalls, bills, etc... it seems like it all will never get done sometimes. Most days I feel like between work and home, 2 of me couldn't get done what I need to accomplish in one day.. but somehow it happens (thanks to David or my Mama a lot of the time.. I don't know what I would do without them!). Don't get me wrong, this is the life that I've always dreamed of... and I thank God daily for my blessings!! I often remind myself of my favorite quote on the busiest of days.. "it's better to have your hands full, than empty." I love that. It just puts everything in perspective for me.

Lucas is growing by leaps and bounds these days! He has cut his first top tooth and a third bottom one is about to pop through any day. I think he is on the verge of crawling, too. He still does not "appreciate" tummy time, but he is tolerating it better and learning that he can scoot and use his legs to propel him to the toy he wants at the moment. :o) He has also learned that he can roll continuously back to tummy, tummy to back to get from here to there.

We have both been soaking up our daddy time this weekend. David left Friday before last on a business trip and did not return until this past Friday. It was a long week without him here, but Lucas and I managed to hold down the fort. Lucas looked for his daddy everyday.. especially in the evenings when he knew it was time for him to come home on a normal day... he would call and call for him- "dadadadadadadadadada." I tried to explain that dada was working and would be back soon, but that was no consolation at the time. He has been all smiles since his daddy got back home (his mommy has been all smiles, too)!

I hope everyone reading this has a great week. Count your blessings everyday!

Update

He loves magazines.. or rather loves tearing them up!
I hope you were done with this one Mommy...

Helping with the laundry...

He LOVES his "Brown Bear" book!

First of all, let me start by apologizing for the lack of posts lately... our internet has been (mostly) down for the past month thanks to a storm damaging our area's tower.... it has been extremely frustrating to say the least, but it is working this afternoon.. yay! I have been in blogger withdrawls!!!

Lucas has been recovering from a double ear infection and what I think was tonsilitis... which he has now given to me. :0( But, thankfully, we are both on the mend.. just in time for school to start back. It is so hard to believe that it is that time again. It seems that it always sneaks up on me in the end... but, I know how lucky I am to have my summers off with my big man and I have truly cherished each day! He has grown so much in these few weeks... it is exciting and sad all at the same time! Sometimes I just want him to stop and stay just the way he is forever and ever. :o) He is still not showing a lot of interest in crawling, but his legs are getting so strong and I am positive that pulling up is in the very near future. He is also "patting cakes"... when David or I sing the song, L claps his hands along with us. So precious! His smile is even more heart melting now that his bottom teeth are becoming more visible (I am still trying to capture them on camera). Life is so good! I don't know what we ever did before we had a baby! :o)

Lucas stayed with Mrs. Penny a couple of days this week while I did some prep work in my classroom. He is transitioning well. The first morning was a little rocky... he had gotten used to the "quiet" mornings with Mommy, so the noise level with the other children was a little bit of an adjustment, but by the afternoon Penny said he was doing great. Lucas just loves her and she loves Lucas... we are so blessed to have such a wonderful person keeping our little angel!

We are looking ahead to another hectic week... pre-planning starts on Tuesday and school starts on Friday! At least L and I can lay low and enjoy our last day together on Monday before the whirlwind begins!
