Update

Not much time for posting today, but I wanted to post a brief update. Lucas is doing alot better. No fever since Sunday! Yay! He is still a bit congested, but even that seems to be a tiny bit better. He is continuing to sleep more than usual, but I think that is a good thing.. he is healing! Thanks to those of you that have messaged and asked about him... Now that the fever has stayed down for a good 24 hours, hopefully we will all get some much needed rest tonight!!!

4 month shots...

Lucas got his 4 month shots yesterday afternoon. He was already a little under the weather... he woke up Friday morning sounding congested in his nose. I had concerns about him getting immunized with a possible cold, but Dr. Lisa assured us that even if it was a little viral infection, it was safe to go ahead with the shots. He was in such a good mood, until the first needle (the big sad lip poked out) and full fledged screaming ensued after the second shot. It is so hard to watch him in pain. We got home and got comfy in our pjs while David did our weekly grocery shopping (thank you!). Lucas seemed to be doing alright, just drowsy from the Tylenol and still congested. He went to bed at his normal time, around 9... but he woke up not feeling well at 11. No fever, just fussy. I cuddled him back to sleep, but then he woke up again at 1. This time, I knew he had a fever as soon as I touched his little body. He was burning up! His fever was 102.7! It scared the living daylights out of me. I couldn't get the Tylenol in him and strip his clothes off fast enough. I called for David to help, too.. he got us a cool cloth and we began the cooling process. The fever started coming down, but took about 2 hours before Lucas was comfortable enough to fall back asleep (fever back down in the 100-100.9 range). After that, David and I alternated getting up every hour checking on our sick little angel. We also alternated the Tylenol and Baby Motrin every 2 hours. That kept the fever down for the rest of the night, and this morning we thought we were out of the woods except for his sniffles and congestion, but around 2 this afternoon the fever returned. Looks like it might be another long evening... Does anyone know how long this should last?

Anniversary Gift

David and I will celebrate our 2nd Anniversary on Tuesday, but he gave me this special gift (even though we weren't supposed to get each other anything) a little early... a wooden photo album with our wedding vows engraved on it. Isn't is the sweetest thing? I am so blessed to have such a sweet and thoughtful hubby!

So Tired

I'm sure this is the first of many times... but, Wednesday night Lucas was so exhausted he fell asleep in his jumparoo! I was trying to keep him awake as long as I could, but he just couldn't d it anymore. :o)

Lucas' Photo Shoot!

Lucas had his first photo shoot with (the FABULOUS) Tracy Thompson today! The session went really well. Lucas gave her some smiles, but got really tired and sleepy soon after... so.... she took a few sleeping pictures, too. She is such an AWESOME photographer and we feel so blessed to have her take our little angel's pictures! She posted a preview on her blog... check it out!.. click on Photography by TracyT on the left under my friends. We can't wait to see all of them!!!

St. Patrick's Day

I know, I know.. I am waaay late posting anything. I took these of Lucas wearing his "good luck charm" shirt for St. Patrick's Day. A good friend of mine at work got it for him. It was too cute! He was so sleepy in the first picture.. definitely not ready to model it yet! :o)

Update

I snapped a couple of cute pictures this morning that I just had to share...

Lucas is making sure his mommy and daddy get in their daily weight training these days... he is a real chunk of lead now! He is still drooling bunches and "chewing" on his fingers alot, but I don't think his first tooth is as close as we thought... he is still really not any fussier than he usually is, and half the time he isn't interested in the teethers anymore. Maybe we've got a little bit longer before it makes its appearance. He is continuing to have good nights and not so good nights as far as sleeping goes. A couple of weeks ago, he went from needing 2 bottles a night, to only needing 1 sometime between 4 and 6 a.m. (and we are already up anyway at that time on weekdays). We were in heaven! But, as of late, he has started needing 2 again. I am thinking that he is just going through a growth spurt. He will be able to start cereal in about 2 weeks, so we are hopeful that he will settle down a bit better (and longer) with a heavy belly.

Something else cute to share.... I have noticed Lucas occasionally looking in the direction of the television lately, so today I put in one of his "Praise Baby" DVDs to see if it would interest him... he thought it was the coolest thing! He sat/ played in my lap the entire time! I really recommend the series... it is much like the "Baby Einstein" DVDs, except these have christian tunes in the background (I Could Sing of Your Love Forever, Shout to the Lord, Open the Eyes of my Heart, etc..). I am excited to share more with Lucas during our "down time"... it was so rainy this weekend!

Snow!!!

The snow was just beautiful this morning and afternoon! Lucas wasn't really impressed by the cold white stuff, but David and I were. It has been quite a while since we got almost 3 inches!
