Big's Birthday and The Pumpkin Patch

We had such a great time yesterday with Nana and Big. It was Big's birthday and we celebrated all day with lots of fun adventures!

We started our day at Jack-o-lantern Lane in LaFayette. Lucas chose his first pumpkin and had a ball looking at all the animals, going on a hayride, and shelling his first ear of corn (he wouldn't turn loose of his corn cob for the entire day). It was great family fun! I highly recommend it to everyone!

After the pumpkin patch we headed to Loachapoka, AL for our first visit to the Syrup Soppin' Festival. We all wished that we had alotted more time to spend there.... tons of arts & crafts, food and syrup makin'! We can't wait to make a day of it next year.

Finally, we traveled up to Newnan where we were joined by Mom and Papa at Big's pick, Red Lobster, for a birthday feast.
We had such a wonderful day. I just love this time of year and all of the fun activities it brings!

Pancakes Please!

Take a closer look at those chompers... 4 on top and 3 on bottom now!
I threw a little variety into breakfast today... pancakes (just the frozen kind.. not much time to make the real deal ones these days). Lucas loved them... especially the pieces I dipped in syrup for him. Yum!

How'd he do THAT?!

Lucas sipped on a juice cup on our way down to Auburn today. Just as we pulled into a parking lot, I heard him "clinking" something together.. when I opened the door my jaw fell to the ground! It was the lid and his cup.. he somehow unscrewed the lid to his sippy cup and emptyed it all over himself and the carseat! How did he do that? Everything was soaked!

No More Jumparoo!

Lucas is such a jumper. He can't get enough. We started limiting his time in the jumparoo at home a few months ago in exchange for more "floor" play time, but on Thursday night I was so glad that he was feeling better from his surgery that I let him get in it for a little bit... he was going bananas in it as usual so I grabbed the camera for a quick clip.... and you see what happened! It scared the living daylights out of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucas was completely fine.. just a little stunned by the fall. We are so lucky that he was not injured. The clips on the front legs malfunctioned and the whole thing collapsed. I know it was probably because Lucas just wore the thing completely out, but I don't think I will ever be able put another child in one.. ever.

Lucas has tubes!

At 3:30 this morning before we headed to the hospital...

Waiting to go back in his "lovely" gown (sorry for the quality.. camera phone pic)

Back home and already feeling better!

We are so thankful that Lucas' procedure went well this morning. He was such a brave boy.
Dr. Novelly and the nurses at Scottish Rite took great care of him. All in all, he was only away from us for about 25 minutes for the entire procedure/ recovery. Dr. Novelly said that his poor little ears were full of fluid and already becoming infected again... but the tubes are now draining all of that icky stuff out of our precious sweetie and not hurting him this time! He already feels better.. drinking lots of fluids, great appetite, no fever!!!! All is good!
