Tough Little Guy

Poor Lucas, it seems every time we get him well, he gets sick again. He has been "sniffly" for a little over a week, but over the weekend his drainage seemed to worsen, so I took him to his pediatrician's office yesterday. Turns out he has an ear infection. It never dawned on me that his ear was causing this... he hasn't been fussy at all, no fever, he's been eating fine... but, the nurse practitioner took one look at his left ear and said he was a tough guy, because it was really red and yucky on the inside. She prescribed him an antibiotic (bubblegum flavor... he actually seems to enjoy taking it) and we have a follow-up appointment scheduled in two weeks. I know that everything he catches now is helping his body build up and make his own antibodies and immunities, but I still don't like it with him being so little and not being able to tell us what's hurting.
